What do you take with you when you have to leave everything behind?

Stories of leaving, of borders, and of new beginnings, told through the language of the body: acrobatics, equilibristics, juggling — without a single word.
45–50 minutes. Recommended for ages 10+.
Tickets
Free — for spectators up to 26 years old (inclusive) (50% of seats, funded by the EU).
Paid — for all other spectators (50% of seats).
Cases is a circus-cultural project for European cities where migration has become a source of tension. Through contemporary circus and stories of real people, Cases creates a space in which locals and newcomers can get to know each other better, making conversation possible. On stage, three artists tell their own migration stories through acrobatics, contact juggling and modern dance. The performance lasts 45 minutes and is entirely wordless: the body speaks directly to everyone in the hall. Recommended for ages 10 and up.
“Cases is our attempt to establish a dialogue: to talk about our experience, our encounters and memories, about the possibility of discovering something new in the world or mourning what we have lost. If our performance could tell a single thought to every city we visit, it would be this: we are here and we would like to meet you.”
Larisa Afanasyeva, founder and artistic director of Upsala-Circus
